Holidays Are Over

Today is the 12th day of Christmas so I will take down my little tree, the string of lights out on my patio and look forward to the new year 2019 to see what it will bring. It was a bit of a challenge here in California in 2018 with all the fires and mass shootings close to me here in Ventura County. My heart was so heavy seeing all the destruction, homes and lives lost and those who did survive are trying to make life whole again. Myself and my property was spared thankfully but I do remain very humble knowing that tomorrow is not promised.

As I pack up my little tree, decorations and nativity scene I am reminded that a new year is here and I must stay kind and help others whenever I can. It doesn't cost a thing to be kind and paying it forward can be an awesome feeling. I have done it when others have been helpful and kind to me. I still hate turning on the TV at times and seeing all the horror, crime and political back stabbing so I turn it off and listen to music. Love my oldies!! Brings back good memories.

Happy new year to one and all!

We had rain finally all day yesterday and more to come this week. Some of the burn areas have flooded. Our heroes in the fire department and Cal Trans are working so hard out there to remove mud and debris. God Bless those men and women!

Hope you have an excellent new year.

I am somewhat familiar with where you are as I used to live in SoCal.But my friends there say it has changed a lot since I was there.

I cut the cable a couple years ago and can be more selective of the news and facts I source online.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Yes it has changed a lot. I moved here to Simi Valley in 1987 from San Diego when I got married. I decided to stay here after my divorce in 2007. Where I am is clean, safe and quiet. I considered relocating to Texas or Arizona but I can't take the extreme weather. I am a native California girl!

I lived in L.A. from birth till 1993 when I moved to northern AZ, which is much different than Phx etc. I would not want to live down there.
