Tax fights

The actual details of the tax changes are supposed to be released on Wednesday. Then the opposition will hit. Cutting the home mortgage deduction will be attacked by realtors and those trying to buy a first house.

The proposed cuts to state and local tax deduction will be savaged by high tax states that are donors to poor states. New York, New Jersey and California will lead the opposition.

The tax breaks for the rich, paid for by the poor and middle class will be attacked, particularly the end of the Federal estate tax and the end of the alternative minimum tax.

The cuts to 401 (k) retirement accounts will be very unpopular and attacked.

The $4 trillion increase to the Federal debt will be objected to by the few left who care about the Federal debt.

The GOP and Trump will lose a lot of support if another failure occurs in tax reform.
