What is sex worth?

Of course everyone likes a bargain, and sex for free is a real bargain. Unless it is not.

Some offer sex for a change in status as in marriage. In the case of foreign non-citizens marriage can lead to a green card and US citizenship three years later.

But I was thinking more about sex workers and . How much would you pay for excellent sex from a professional? In some countries sex is fairly cheap, like Thailand for example. Lots of available providers and lots of competition. Too much supply drives the price down.

The US also has lots of competition, especially from the illegal aliens in massage parlors. This is one area where the competition is hurting the domestic providers. So how much is a fair price to for an hour of sex?

The sale of sex for money is of course illegal, except in a few places like certain counties in rural Nevada. The providers will say they are selling time and companionship and if sex happens that is just a coincidence. Not very believable.

I have not done a survey, but it seems somewhere between $50 and 300 is the going rate depending on many variables. Younger, more attractive ones charge more. Less favored ones charge less. More time costs more. More skilled and more options cost more.

I don't know about men charging for service, straight or gay, as that is not something I have researched. Interesting that sex as a service is as costly as it is. Making it legal would drive down the cost and make it more affordable. I do not expect to live long enough to see the government offering sex stamps to help the poor afford sex, but it would be a popular service I would think.
