Lantana movie

Watched Lantana on IFC. Barbara Hershey was the leading lady. Interesting psychological thriller from Australia. The cop lead has a brief affair with a dancer friend and then confesses to his wife his two fuck affair! She is hurt but forgives him. They have two teenage boys.

Cops have high stress jobs and poor track record for divorce. confession may be good for the soul, but is bad for the recipient. I believe in stout denial. The pain from disclosure far outweighes the pain from non-disclosure!

What do you think and what has been your experience?

You may be right that not hearing is easier on the cuckolded spouse, but if they ever figure it out, the damage may be too great.
