Adult

Parenting is a tough and usually thankless task. That is ok, as I did not appreciate my parents enough either when I was young. You pay it forward instead of backward...

Once the becomes an adult I decided to back off giving advice. I limit my great ideas to one or so every few months, unless specifically asked for advice. It is difficult to restrain myself, but I have done so for a number of reasons.

There is so much info available if the person wants to check out stuff on the internet or from friends. Plus discovering the answer for yourself is part of the challenge of life.

So I repeat my mantra when asked by others what the intends to do about a particular issue:
"He will figure it out!" So far, he has.

I am the same way my answer usually is he knows better and if he doesnt learn then he needs to keep on until he does. My mother hates that lol. That being said I do try to give little pearls of wisdom in not so obvious ways too.

Can you make me smile

If you solve all their problems, they never learn how to solve problems.

We all learn from experience and grow. So you have to let them grow at their own speed...
