where were you?

where were you 12 years ago today?

I was living in an off campus apartment in the panhandle of florida. interestingly, I knew the flight training academy where those men learned to fly... it wasn't that far from where I was living. I was working the midnight shift at the time, so when the events started to unfold I was asleep and my roommates woke me... and even now I remember how bad I felt when at 1st I was ticked at them for waking me, only to discover.... good call! as information started to become available I can remember the anger within the student body... 10 miles from campus was a mosque, and i'm embarrassed to admit this but some of the more scared/upset wanted to take action... although nothing came of that (thank goodness sanity won out there)

this is a rambling post, but it is a day for remembering...

Living near and working in Boise building a nuclear garbage smasher.

Falling madly in love with a woman that would eventually break my heart permanently.

I was driving to work. Listening to the Howard Stern show that morning completely clueless about what was going on until the girls at my office told me when I got to work.
Howard didn't say a word about it, and he was in NY

We had an office meeting, and were just waiting to hear "Chicago" in the news. My boss was flipping out kinda. Having Chicago right down the tollway from the office. She sent us home early. Traffic was horrible. It seemed like a lot of people got sent home early. State Police up and down the tollway.

I just remember being scared and looking up at the sky on my drive home. So were a lot of other people that day.

yes I can remember. I lived about 20 miles from Pensacola N.A.S where the blue angels are based and in the days that followed the amount of air traffic over the city increased.... and it none of it was commercial either! very nerve wracking
