Flyers rule, Red Wings drool. This is a painful post for me to make. This is to pay off a bet with an acquaintance of mine, E she being half of the Rainbowsox. My hockey team lost to hers tonight (in ot no less) and so to acknowledge the loss I will 'sing' the flyers fight song. Way back when, when I lived in Michigan and we had season tickets to the wings, this is way back when the team was known as the dead wings, the Flyers got this hot young goal tender named Hextall. He was really good and had this swagger about him and we could never seem to beat him... but even worse than that? My older brother loved him, and when he found out that I didn't like the Hextall move, this thing he did using his stick to slap both goal posts so he knew where he was, (which I hated solely, b/c he didn't play for my team) my brother would mimic this move Everywhere: block me in the hallway, block me from the bathroom, block me from watching tv... the fat bastard did it all the time! ugh! So while my level of sports hatred is higher for other teams, I still have plenty of angst against those Flyers! Enjoy the spoils of your victory! (for some weird reason) my name is plenty, and tonight I'm E's bitch! p.s. in case you were wondering what E would have done had the wings won instead... well I don't rightly know, I seem to have forgotten to tell either of those ladies about our bet! |
