Catfishing, Part III

Again... sigh...

I really wonder what goes through the minds of the folks who have to program which profiles are going to be "viewing" my profile. Last time, the email claimed 6 women from out of state wanted to meet me...

This time it was 6 women... 3 of which were from out of state. The other three were from one of the corners of the state (I live nearly in the middle). Again, all of the women were between 20-30, and all of them were seeking women.

Um... hello? It's a dead giveaway that your crew doesn't know what it's doing when the folks who show up on my profile don't match ANY criteria I have listed.

Except that they are female. That's about it.

I realized a while back that one way to recognize the catfish was to look at all of the information they published in the profile. At first, most profiles contained at least 50% of the information filled out; now, it's the bare minimum, like they've given up working all that hard. Seriously, all that is usually filled out is the gender, the age, where they live... and that's it. Even if a pic is posted, they will not identify their body type or hair color.

Pretty sad, really. I mean, they're trying to cheat me, but they really aren't putting much effort into it.

Interesting thing here... I'm starting to get more profiles viewing mine... when I"m not online... and they are out of state... and looking for women.

I've checked - and rechecked - and rechecked yet again - my profile does not list me as female. It does list me as male. The photographs show hair on my chest, and either a long white beard or a scruffy beard. So, either these people are looking me up for a specific reason (seriously, what would it be? I am not female, although I keep getting men hitting me up), or this site is trying to get me to pay for a membership, since I am obviously so popular.

Well, at least they put more effort into it...

You can tell if they are scammers without viewing the profile.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

On FriendFinder-x, how can you tell? I know how I can tell on others, but this site has me stumped.

Not only they want your money, they also think you're stupid enough not to look into your viewers.

WITHOUT PASSION LIFE IS NOTHING
