Sunday Morning Coffee -9/16/2012

Here we are on another Sunday in a pleasantly chilly morning here in Central Ohio…
I hope everyone had a great week and the good will carries into the days that follow.

This has been a week full of surprises,
some happiness, some sadness and most of all just life in general.

I’m sorry to say that we in my family, lost a friend and a very beautiful person in a terrible auto accident last week…her husband who is still in critical condition is responsive and understands what has happened and is grateful that the services will be held when he can be there or next to her depending on how the cards play out…in retrospect;
take the time to tell those around you that you care,
because there is no guarantee about tomorrow.

What a crazy week this has been around the world and sadly enough this is the only the beginning of some very ugly times to come…I had hoped we had turned the corner to the ugliness and the arrogance of 9/11, but I’m afraid that we have only doomed ourselves to the repeating the mistakes of our past. What we need now more than ever “is real leadership”; not 30 second sound bites, half-truths and catchy slogans, and when all we have for leadership; is ambulance chasing attorneys, should we expect anything different than what we have.

For those who are college sports fans, this was great weekend for football…My Buckeyes pulled out a victory on Saturday, it was ugly, but it was win…I think ole Luke needs to get his head out of his ass before he finds himself in the ranks of the unemployed…our smash mouth defense has been very suspect so far…as much as I hate say it, I think Luke Fickle is looking for his next team, myself I hope it finds it quick…UAB next week with Michigan State and Nebraska in the weeks to follow…
We’ll see what the future holds…Go Buckeyes

For me personally this was a hectic week….work has been challenging we have 3 new product lines that are being installed and this is the kind of stress I live for, the satisfaction in the end is worth all the sleepless nights in the beginning…were not at the celebration stage yet,
but the hard work is starting to reap some rewards.

For those that know me on a personal level…you know that a couple of ugly and stressful events have now turned the corner and the door has been closed…the custody of my grandchildren have been awarded to my brother-in-law and his wife…this is not where I thought things would have ended in the beginning, but while you’re out making plans, Life Happens…The other event, is end to my probation over the disorderly conduct charge…it ended without any fanfare…I found out through 2 phone calls…my attorney in Newark called to say it was over…the other came from an attorney here in Columbus, who has been a friend of the family for more than 20 years and he summed it up best with these comments…your mother would have been very proud of the way you handled yourself over the last 18 months and knowing you the way I do, if the worst thing they can say about you after everything that's happened “is that you were verbally abusive at times”,
there are some damn lucky people out there.

It’s time for some new challenges, some new demons to fight and some old demons to finally put to rest…am I ready to play nice yet…I’m not sure…right now, I just want to savor the moment…neither of these events came with celebration, both came with a profound sense of sadness,
that things never had to be what they were,
and there were no winners with far too many losers.

I’ve learned more than ever in this past week “Life Happens” and there ain’t a damn thing you can do about it, except to take the ride and hold on tight…My sincere hope is, life is good with all of you out there and you’re spending time with those who love you…”Viva Life” and the many good things that come with it…This coffee and bagel this morning is for all of you….
Peace & Love My Friends

it's the small victories that we cherish...but the enlightment from it, that teaches us the most
