My "first" time...

I am 23, almost 24 and I have still never had the pleasure of asking a woman out on a date. I did in fact try to once… however, she said yes before I got it out of my mouth! I was actually very upset about it…

I am a romantic, and I will not ever even consider asking a woman out if it is not the perfect setting…

The first gal I met that I wanted to ask out was a girl I had been getting to know during the summers because we both did community service together. We worked together 9 weeks a summer and I have to admit; she was awesome in all aspects! We always have a event during the mid part of the year so we can all get together and see each other that we had worked with the summer before and who we will be working with in the upcoming summer. This is actually a big event and normally 100,000 or more of us workers attend…

I knew I wanted to ask her in front of everyone, no differently then if I would if proposing…

Before I went, I grabbed a ring box from my mother’s dresser and folded and placed the symphony tickets I had been given for my upcoming b-day from my grandparents into the box where a ring would normally go. After that I put my studded leather dress armor on and slung my skeletal sword off my hip as I normally do when dressing up.

The events are great… they always have symphony and hire chefs to come in and cook everything right in front of us. The place of the events changes each year… they select a church within New England and thus we have it at where ever they select. This specific year was in Kittery… a very new and yet old fashioned church. The insides are all light wooden stained and very rustic really… like my dream house some day…

I have more friends then I can count there, and thankfully one of the preachers I know was a friend with one of the violinists. We arranged it so that when the time came for me to get on stage and call Lori up… they would start playing “here comes the bride” as she walked up.

I waited till after the main events were done… and then waited for the auction to get done (they have an auction for the Make a wish foundation… or an organization like that each year). Without a doubt, she knew something was up when she saw me even getting on stage. I am not a public speaker and she knows it… you normally won’t even catch me speaking at all if more then 5 people are right around me. Anyway… you should have seen her face when I asked her to come up on stage. Better yet, you should have seen the look on her face when she actually got up and started walking up… when the pianist started her tune… Lori literally froze for a few seconds in mid step.

She finally made it up on stage… I think saying she was a little nervous would be an understatement! I just looked her flat in the eye for a few seconds… not saying anything. Then I started to get down on one knee as I pulled the box out of my frog casing. She started to say “Omg my…” and I opened it right in the middle of her saying it…

Once she saw what was inside she started laughing hysterically… I pulled the tickets out and lifted them up so everyone could see and just about everyone in the crowd started laughing as well. They all thought I was making a proposal since they all knew how good of friends we had been for as long as we had. Once she was not laughing so hard, she just looked at me and said, “Yes”. I never got to ask, I wanted to wait for her to be serious… but she answered anyway…

That was a very fun night… and when I finally meet a woman that I want to marry, the actual proposal will not be in front of a crowd of people. I have much more romantic ideas for such a special event. Not only do I think that a proposal should be special… but so should the initial asking her out on the date be special!

Later, after we had been dating for almost 2 years… I planned on proposing… the night I planned it for though… she got killed in a car accident on the way to the event. A car does not stand a chance against a tractor-trailer when it is a head on collision!

Kind of messed me up a bit… I am a little afraid to risk putting myself out there again… but finding a woman I love is all I care about. I have never casually dated and never will… I will not even have sex with a woman unless she is special to me. Lori is the only gal I have really wanted in that way… I was younger though and did not act on it. Once and awhile I still get kicked by myself for not making love to a woman I loved. What I felt for her is what I desire... not vagina in the world can compare to the feeling of someone who loves you deeply and you love them back.

As tacky as it sounds, as long as you have the memories that shine so warm in your heart, knowing that for the time you shared, you were blissfull and complete, loved, and loving back...
Stops before my empathy kicks in full blast

Tis ok, was a long time ago now.

Not something I like talking about... some of the women I have met here have known about it for several months now... I just don't discuss the issue openly.
