Slow time of the year,

It's that time of year where I really have to hunt for something to do, since I don't have all my corn out, I haven't been able to move some cattle down to graze the corn stalks, and water ways. The wet weather has not let up, and we have not really had cold temps to freeze the ground. If it does get cold, we have snow with it which makes shelling corn impossible, or at least to do a good job of it. I am seeing a reduction in the amounts of corn harvested since a strong wind caused some of my corn to lay down. I figure the wind me better than a hundred dollars a acre. Any how, that is life, just watching the rain and ice come down and make everything a real mess.

You just don't seem to be able to catch a break recently. Hopefully that will change soon.

That's the way it works, ha ha, I have pretty much decided it will be spring time before the corn is out.

Really not good for you Big! Plus, January can be such a long "slow" month as well - the good news, it's almost over, and then the romantic month will begin - now that has to be a good time, esp if you are having cold rain - cuddle up times!

Yes it has been a long month, but it is about over, ha ha, I was able work one morning during a cold snap, and was able to get half of the corn I had left in the field. So I am closer. Ha ha, I am not sure there are any single females around for cuddling. Ha ha it seems the most interesting are halfway around the world

The weather is nasty all around. We hauled the last steer for processing in a cold as heck drizzle earlier this week. Then it really rained which makes that barn yard a sucking mud mess. I can't get the trailer in there to unload hogs. If it would freeze, the ground would be firm. Is it too much to ask for things to get hard?!

I am wishing things would get hard around here also, I drove my truck out of the barn the other day, cut ruts about a foot deep in sod. I still have corn in the field, guess it will stay until spring. With the snow on the ground it won't freeze up. Ha ha
