Friends, family and others

I was reading a blog about meeting people that meet and find different ties to each other's life. I think it's called degrees of separation. Since my family has been in this area so long, I run into this pretty often. A couple of years ago I stopped at a little Cafe for lunch, the waitress was kinda flirting with me. Maybe it's just my mustache. Ha ha a good looking gal and I was having fun flirting, she was asking where I lived that sort of stuff and she lived a couple of miles away. I handed her my debit card to pay for lunch and she got a shocked look on her face and ask me if that was my name on the card, I told her it was. Come to find out she was related on my father's side of the family. Ha ha.
Another time I had a gal that I was selling hay to. It was always a nice relaxing time delivering hay to her, good conversation and just really a good time. She mentioned needing a new place to ride her besides in the arena and I told her she should come up to my place some time and we could ride out in the pastures. We made plans and she showed up one evening, we rode awhile then as it was getting dark we headed back to the barn. We turned the horses into a lot by the barn and started having a few beers while talking. About o'clock she said she needed to get home, so we loaded her in her trailer and she headed home. I went into the apartment in my barn and went to bed. I was woke up by her voice yelling my name i jumped out of bed to see what the problem was and she came running in crying. Her was young and hadn't been hauled much. Something spooked her in the trailer and while fighting the halter the had ended up on it's back while still tied in the trailer. With me just wearing my boots I get into the trailer and unlatch the stall divider, and got the lead rope untied. Then pulled her horses head around and got him to where he could stand up. We walked him around to see if he was injured in any way. And she was still a mess crying and shaking like crazy from the ordeal. She ask if she could put him in the pasture with my and spend the night because she didn't think she could drive. I told her no problem. I was still wearing just my boots but we turned him in with my and went into my little apartment. I only have one bed and said we could both sleep in it. She didn't complain , she got undressed and crawled into bed and I held her until she got calmed down from her scare. Then one thing lead to another. Somewhere in our conversations, and talking about family history I made the comment that we could be cousins. Ha ha dammed if she didn't dig into her and my family trees and find out that our family trees did connect. The good part was it was in the late 00's come to find out also that my great grand parents were best friends with great Aunt and Uncle. Ha ha
It seems around here I am connected to everyone. Ha ha

One to get it started, and a little laugh, it crossed my mind I am not sure if it is my mustache, my ability to bullshit or the sight of me just wearing cowboy boots that draws the ladies. Ha ha

And that is yet another reason why I don't tie horses in trailers. I use a stock trailer and leave my horse untied. They usually face the back and do stand at an angle. But anyway ....
Our small town is the same way. Everyone is related some generations back. When we moved here 26 years ago we deepened the gene pool, LOL.

I also use a stock trailer, and would tie with plenty of slack, riding to the side of the trailer where my horse was riding backwards.
