Backpage.com

They just removed their adult section. I think it's bullshit, but what do I know? Thoughts...

I perv them almost daily, but when I looked them up just now they said they took it down and something about the government pressuring them. I bet your neck of the woods has a lot of top notch ones, just going by watching the Sopranos...

If they're a bad site, isn't the one we're on also? What is it about giving gifts in exchange for affection that makes it immoral, but random hook-ups with no generosity is ok?

Here is the difference...

A woman and man meet through this site and like each other enough to fuck. Each of them has free will and is having sex because they want to.

Personally, I think sex work should be legalized and controlled ike any other vice. However, right now it's illegal in most of the US. What that translates into is an industry where significant numbers of the pros are having sex under coercion, out of desperation, nor or mention the sex trafficking of children and foreign nationals brought in from Eastern Europe and parts of Asia.

It's a dirty business and about as close to slavery as we have in the US.

Backpage screwed themselves because *multiple times* they were warned by the government that human traffickers routinely used them yo advertise. Whereas other outlets like CList or the Villiage Voice took nominal steps to curtail those kinds connections.

You wanna pay for sex, that's your business. You wanna put money in the filthy mitts of human traffickers, well that's a whole other matter.

Well, I guess I can't argue with the fact that if it were legalized we would remove the violent criminal element out of prostitution. However, I am a little suspect of the numbers of true victims of coercion and trafficking. I kind of think it's somewhat overhyped rhetoric from both womens' rights groups and church types. All the women I have seen pictured on those ads appeared to be grown women. I think most of the girls are doing it because they like the fast money, wild lifestyle, and dope.

They can't get rid of the world's best site for the mean spirited, arrogant megalomaniacal, trophy hunting sex options.God forbid we'd have to
show our faces and be held accountable for our actions and not just our words
in person!

Using more than all the road!

Oh boy.

I doubt I'll change your mind, but there are a few important things to note. The women in those ads are not necessarily the same women who work for the organization/pimp put this out here for anyone who happens to read this. The numbers of people who are trafficked is tracked by a variety of organizations such as federal organizations from multiple countries, Interpol, the UN and NGOs. We know that it's more than 100, 1000, or even 1,000,000.

Anyone can feel free to disbelieve statistics from multiple sources. I'm choosing to believe it and not chalk it up to some shadowy illuminatiesque conspriacy.
