It's Dark In Here


It's Dark In Here

It's dark in here.
My eyes are closed.
I feel the darkness as it surrounds me -
... cool, damp, slippery.
There is a moldy, acrid odor to it.

It's dark in here.
I reach up to my face to untie the blindfold –
There is none.
I open my eyes
It’s dark in here.

When did my life change from light to dark?
Where did the isolation and obscurity come from?
Will the darkness go away?
When?
Will I see the light – feel it’s warmth on my face?
When?
It’s dark in here.

funny, Thank you, my friend. These are just some of the things I think about when I am awake all night long and sleep deprived. I know that eventually, things will turn around....I just need more sleep to feel better and to help my body heal.
