~~ New Jersey

On July 27, National New Jersey Day recognizes the third state to join the Union. I never knew that the state I live in had a National Day . I am not a native of the state, but I have lived here "forever". I have not heard of any celebrations, but I think it is a good bot of information for the . There are a lot of misconceptions about the state, but there are so many stereo typical things also. It has large rural areas, and many farms. Of course there is the long beach areas. Also one nude beach!! The two main highways, The New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway are necessary, but nightmare roadways. Of course we have the iconic road side diners, the cuisine is varied and delicious. Here are some historic facts : Due to New Jersey’s central location among the thirteen colonies, more battles during the Revolutionary War took place here than any other state.
While the state was the third to enter the union, it was the first to sign the Bill of Rights.
While industry and innovation grew, so did its population. Today it has the highest population density of any state in the United States.
While it may be an industrial powerhouse, its nickname the Garden State is precise. New Jersey supplies the world with cranberries, blueberries, and tomatoes.
What I find amazing about New Jersey is that although there is a large State Police agency, they are remarkably inefficient and incompetent. What are some facts you would like to share about where you live? When is your National Day?

Love New Jersey! It is where I met my wife 44 years ago one great summer when I was 16 years old! Born in PA I absolutely love it here. South Jersey is the best and diametrically different from Central and the North. Sorry you had State Police Problems. They can be assholes for sure as they have a better than everyone else attitude, but did not know them to be incompetent. Enjoy!

Love your photo selection of the Garden State. I grew up in Central Jersey (Edison).
In '79 I moved into NYC and MD & VA after that. Moved into Atlantic City back in 2011.
Thinking after here it'll be a move to the OBX area of NC
Always loved talking Jersey...

An excellent post Pal. You can truly find lots of good information about NJ. Nice place to visit along with New York. I am not sure we have a National Day just for one province. Canada day is our holiday for everyone to celebrate. Hugs V

The only time I was in New Jersey is when I was discharged from Fort Dix. Then I drove to Philadelphia....for what I saw I was really impressed!

Well, as a transplant to the Sunshine State, I had to look up information...which was fun, and I learned new things...

"National Florida Day on January 25 recognizes the 27th state to join the United States.

The Sunshine State is home to the oldest established city in the country. St. Augustine’s was founded by Spanish explorers in 1565.

With an average high temperature of 79.5°F, it should be no surprise that Floridian John Gorrie brought refrigeration and air conditioning to the world in 1851."
