like it's been a awfully long while since we've gotten together for a Midnight Ramble,....So Please,....Relax World Weary Mind of yours, and pull a seat around the Fire,....Get Comfortable,....the fridge is stocked with Grape Soda,....and there's some fine Blonde Lebanese Hash in my whale bone pipe over on the table,....I know,...it makes your eyes Red just thinking about it, doesn't it,......So feel Free to help yourselves to some,.....So,.....Tonight I've got a small tale to tell,.....On October the 26th,....I took the trek to the West Side of Manhattan to see one of the last area performance of my beloved Black Crowes,.....And, this My Fallen Angels, is how it Went,...... -|- -|- -|- -|- -|- -|- -|- -|- -|- -|- THE BLACK CROWES ~ 10/26/2013 ~ TERMINAL 5 ~ N.Y.C -|- -|- -|- -|- -|- -|- -|- -|- -|- .........The NJtransit train out of the Red Bank Station was jammed with Halloween Revelers in<b> costumes </font></b>of every sort,.....all of them heading to parties spread out over the five Boroughs of Babylon The Wicked.....I end in a seat facing the rear of the train,......Have you ever traveled like this before?.....It's Peculiar, isn't it?....Instead of seeing where your headed,.....You get to see what it is you're leaving behind,..... .........As the Stops fall away,....the Suburbs give birth to the city,....and you can almost see the Decay and Rot of urban desolation, as it springs forth across the landscape like 's Blossoms or a bad case of The Mange,....Erupting from the very bosom of Suburbia,....Spreading like a case of terminal cancer,...... .........The Houses begin to look run down,....a few are boarded up,....the yards begin to get smaller and smaller, until they disappear completely, replaced by sidewalks and brick front stoops,....Single Occupancy Homes become Two Family Houses,....with three and four cars parked haphazardly out front,.....and as the streets get more crowded and narrow,....Side Yards become Alleys, Strewn with Dumpsters and Trash,....stripped cars begin to the Dead End streets,.....some burned,....all of them on blocks,....like dinosaur skeletons riddled with Scrawls of Graffiti,.....Apartment buildings and Projects, although ever present,....Soon begin to outnumber the dilapidated houses,....and as parking gets more and more impossible,.....Monolithic Parking Structures begin to stand sentinent on every corner,...... .........Once you cross the Marshy Wastelands are the back fields of Newark/Liberty InterNational Airport,....and after one more stop at Newark,.....known as the Unfriendliest City in the World,.....Then it's down into the darkness of the tunnel under the river,....the into the bowels of Pennsylvania Station,....And then out onto the Streets and Avenues of Mahattan,....The very Heart of New York City proper,....... .........Out on the corner of 33rd and 7th, Pandemonium was in full effect, with costumed Revelers running for the limited Taxi's,....Not to have to suffer a long brisk walk in their mostly skimpy costumes,.....And crossing 33rd, I begin to make my way Uptown,...... .........The sidewalks are packed with people going here and there in a hurry,.....I walk up a few more blocks to Time Square,....Taking it all in as I go,.....The Unmitigated Chaos,....Ahhhh but I feel right at home!....I have to laugh though, at trend in women's Costumes, is to make them as Sexy and Revealing as Possible, with their micro mini skirts and fishnet stockings,.....and don't get wrong,....I love it,....but on this occasion it was kind of Hard to tell the Hookers from the Halloweener's,....But 's just Another reason why I Love this Town,....... .........I don't know of any other city in the world,.....and I've been to a few,.....where you can see a guy in assless leather chaps and a ball gag being led around on a leash by a woman in a Nazi SS Officer's Hat and a red and black latex mini dress and thigh high combat boots,.....along side sombody in a full body professional quality "Under Dog" outfit,.....Thats Right My Faithful of the Night,....Only here in Gotham,....... .........I turn left on 43rd and begin to head over to 8th,....hoping that the sidewalks won't be so congested,....this turns out to Not be So,....However, right as I step off the curb, a Taxi comes screeching to a stop not three feet in front of me,....a couple frantically exits the vehicle obviously late for wherever they have to go,....leaving the car door open as they go,....... .........I leap off the curb, through the open door, and directly into the back seat of the waiting cab, before the driver even has a chance to protest......"610 54th Street" I bellow over the incessant beat of Wall of Vodoo's "Mexican Radio"....Have You ever Heard that Song?....Sweet Lucifer's Halo, but that Song will stick in your Head for Days,.....He nods and Smacks the Meter with the flat of his hand,.....Then We Rocket Off to the West Side,...... .........The Driver barks out an endless stream of grunts and clicks that I can only guess might be Ugandan,....I nod and smile along for a few minutes, before I realize that he's talking on his Blue Tooth,.....to some long lost relative,....or maybe just his wife, somewhere up in The Bronx,.....either way, cutting through Mid-Town traffic, he only came close to killing us two or three times,....... .........I have him drop me off at the corner of 54th,....I hop out and onto the street,....and after taking a look around to see which way the wind blows,....I fade back into the mouth of a darkened alleyway, and packing up my small silver traveling pipe that's hidden in my boot heel,....I enjoy a nice slow smoke, while standing and lookin up at the lights of the West Side Expressway,........ .........After having announced a Band Hiatus, for the next couple of to Persue various side projects,....There was no Fuckin Way,.....I was going to miss their four date engagement at Terminal 5,....Which were slated to be the bands final area appearance before calling it quits in December,......There are Few Constants in My life,....The fact The Black Crowes will Flawlessly Live, Usually Twice a , Album or Not, has been one of them,....... .........Chris Robinson wailed and moaned while doing his trademark gyrating swagger across the stage,.....all the while clapping his hands,....Mr. Robinson may have one of the most Distinct Dance Stylings with gyrating strut, since Mick came along Fifty Ago with His "Jagger Swagger" Meanwhile, young Rich Robinson, Effortlessly ripped through the evenings set,....Even taking over lead vocals on Manassas's "Isn't it about Time."...... .........The band performed Spectacularly, playing a dozen of their career spanning songs and a few covers too,.....Just to prove they haven't forgotten their roots,.....such as the already mentioned "Isn't it about Time" and the Otis Redding classic "Hard to Handle" which they perfectly blended into Deep Purple's "Hush" before finishing off the night with a Blazing rendition of Led Zepplin's classic Coda B-side "Hey Hey What Can I Do?" Completing the evenings performance on a High note,....... .........I've included below the Evenings Set List,......Also if you've noticed, I've numbered the photos in the pic collage,.....This way It will make it much easier For Me to explain them,......My Wayward Souls,....... (1) Obviously the first picture is another Shameless photo of me,.....as amazed as I am,....these photos seem to go over well with the members,....So, Who am I to deny my Faithful Flock what they want? (2) Is a picture of The Black Crowes performing on the 26th at Terminal 5. (3) Is a picture of Good Time Square,....All lit on a Saturday Night. (4) This is a screen printed limited edition concert poster, commemorating The Crowes Four Night Engagement at Terminal 5,.....Only 200 were printed on heavy stock paper and hand signed by the Artist,....Guess who got one?......Number 111,..... .........So,.....My Sweet Fallen Angels, have any of you out there in the shadows been to any Good Concerts lately?.....If not, who was the Best band you've Ever seen preform live?.....Or is there anyone you wished you could have seen before they split?.....Well my Darlings,.....As much as I love you all,.....It's time for me to get high and go to sleep,.....Till the Next time,.....Sin for me My Lovlies,....And if for some reason you should ,.....I'll be right here,.....Where you left ,.....Love Your Guts!...... I'm not a Black Crowes fan, but I loved this post just for your account of your trip to the concert. Oh man, it would be hard to pic out the best concert I've been to... some of my best times have been in the tiny venues where you're right up close with the band. One that I remember, where I danced my ass off until exhausted, was Brave Combo at the 7th Street Entry. The Doors' People Are Strange turned into a polka - good times, my friend.

2010 was the best concert experience of my life. Each May there is Rockfest here. Two stages, fifteen bands and so many people it takes up an entire park. In 2010 I got to see Godsmack, Seether, Three Days Grace, Papa Roach, Five Finger Death Punch, Airborne, Rev Theory, Adelitas Way, Hale Storm, The Veer Union, Janus, Shamans Harvest, Burn Halo, Taddy Porter, and my all time favorites Drowning Pool. It poured rain most of the day and there was ankle to knee deep mud everywhere. I spent most of the day in mosh pits, I was covered with mud head to toe and I had the best time I have ever had at any concert in my life. "Shall I tell you the secret of the true scholar?
