"Gotta hurry on back to my hotel room, Where I've got me a date with a pretty little from Greece She promised she'd be there with When I paint my masterpiece." ~Bob Dylan .........Ahhh,.....Good Evening to you all,.....My Faithful Flock,.....My Fallen Angels,.....Please,.....Come on in of the cold,.....It's a Nasty Day ,.....but that's of no consequence Here,......The Fire is ,......The Company is Good,.....The Hash is Potent,.....And there are plenty of refreshments over in the fridge,.....So help Yourself,.....Now,.....Please,.....Please,.....Pull up a seat,......Kick Back, and let that world weary mind of yours just Slow Down for a bit,.....that's all,.....Relax,.....Take a Breather,......Remember,......You're among Friends Now,........... .........I had gotten to thinking lately about the things about myself that I had to write for the "Sexy Blogger Award" post,.....Well,.....To be more specific, I had been thinking about Five,......Which was the fact that I enjoy drawing and painting as a form of creative release,.....But to be Completely Honest,.....I have had this idea kicking around in the back of my skull for quite awhile now,......... .........I've always been a Huge Fan of the Gonzo Journalist Dr. Hunter S. Thompson,.....and one of the Doctors Creative Eccentricities that I have always admired about the way that he insisted on working,......was this,.....Hunter didn't like, or even really believe in bringing photographers alone on assignments,.....and working mainly for magazines, this often caused a conflict of interest,........ .........However Thompson felt,.....and was Right in the feeling that No Camera or Photograph could capture Say, that Depraved Decadence of the Disgustingly Rich Southern Aristocracy Stoned on Valium and completely Beshitted on Mint Julep's, Foaming at the Mouth and Screaming for Blood from the Governor's Box at the Kentucky Derby,.....This sounds like an Ugly Scene on a Good Day, but during a Heat Wave, with a Head full of Mescaline,......Photographs just couldn't Capture the Essence of a thing such as this properly,......What he needed was an Illustrator who he could drag along with him on assignments to visually capture these moments as they were both witnessing them.....This,.....Along with a lifelong friend is what he found in the British artist Ralph Steadman,........ .........And So,......This brings me back to my initial point,.....You see, just now putting the finishing touches on a Slightly Comedic story of One of My youthful indiscretions,.....I thought to myself that it might be interesting to have a couple of illustrations drawn up to try and capture that place and time some years past,.....Which is really a Tall Order to try and fill,.....And what with Jawbreaker cooling his heels in the county lock up until the new year,.....And the Devilboy my Editor-In-Chief, who can't even draw a Line in the Sand,.....I haven't Much to work with,........ .........So,.....I've decided to do the illustrations Myself,.....And So,....as I went sorting through my old portfolio,.....I came across a few portraits of famous people that I had done or years back, I even found a couple that I really liked,.....so I figured I'd share them with You,.....So I leave you Now Briefly with the ubove drawing that I did of Mr. Mick Jagger, back in his better days,.....I hope that You enjoy it,.....Well, My Wayward of the Night,.....My Darlings,..... sure that our paths will cross again sometime soon,.....but if you should need to me in a quick,.....You know where I'll be,.....Right Here,.....Where you left Me,....... Steadman's style was absolutely perfect for Hunter S. Thompson's crazed ravings You definitely have the aptitude for drawing, son - bring on those illustrations of your youthful indiscretions  (and while you're at it I will commission an uber flattering naked portrait of myself - who needs Photoshop??)
