 Marathons have always struck me as the ultimate triumph of ignoring warning signs. Seriously... shin splints, aching calves, dehydration, and for what end? To win a grab bag of trinkets and a chance to be wrapped up in a mylar blanket like a baked potato in order to stop heat loss. (Or maybe it's to promote heat loss... not being a runner, I don't know of such things.)

Regardless, an interesting take on the topic... thank you for participating again in the virtual symposium!
