I'm open for constructive criticism, as such, I would be more inclined to accept someone's feedback if it was done properly. (i.e. In an articulate way, not in an attacking/derogatory way.)

I've been told occasionally that "Ewww you have a beard" and that I'm "too fucking old". This was by women who did not bother to indicate that they prefer clean shaven nor did they give any age range info. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Why not? I mean with all due consideration to the criticisms of idiots, a profile is a marketing tool intended to put your best attributes forward - regardless of this platform and specifically to the point of this platform. If something is perpetually wrong with the advertisement (for all practical purposes) we should want to know the effect on the targeted audience. And by the same means, it can be written to attract a certain type of audience. (since the sites internal filters aren't actually designed/implemented for that)

I use a current face picture to deter people from reading my profile. Penicillin shot? Maybe because I look like someone who gave you something. I've been on a enchilada style burro kick lately! Thanks though! Using more than all the road!

Different strokes for different folks!! .. we can't all like the same thing, I wouldn't want to know... why engage with me just to say you don't like me or my pic!! Block them and move on

I actually had a local gal refuse to talk with me on LIVE IMs because she said my pic offended her. She didnt say why it offended her, sigh, but I moved on.

If the comment was constructive criticism (pointing out a blunder in the text, a poorly chosen picture, etc.), that's useful. But phrased that way it's a pointless insult. There's a very hot woman on this site who lives nearby, but I've never dared to communicate with her because of political wingnuttery in her blog. I could, hypothetically, tell her that her political views are something that she might better leave out of her net presence, but even if she took it out of her blog she wouldn't change the views, which would likely drive off almost anyone other than a hook-up guy, which she doesn't seem to be seeking. On the other hand, if someone had something easily fixable (messy grammar, unflattering pictures that don't seem consistent with others, etc.), it's a mercy to suggest a fix. I know that one of my pictures is unflattering, but it's in the caption that it's there for laughs. I also know that the text is due for an overhaul, but I haven't gotten around to it.
