After Action Report

After Action Report No, not the sexual kind of action. The work kind. Debated whether or not I wanted to share this, but decided why not? So here goes. And for those that dont know, I work security at a hospital. It started at about 6:30. I was on one of my "parking lot patrols." Which is basically me sitting in my car listening to music. Im parked on the grass, parking lights on, yellow flashing roof light on, watching cars drive.in and out. Patients, visitors, staff coming in for the 7pm shift change. The occasional ambulance goes by. Im drumming on my steering wheel, singing along, making sure people obey the speedlimit and dont run the stopsign. My two-way radio blares out a code from the emergency room. Unruly patient. Headlights on as i race across the<b> campus. </font></b>Turn off my engine and hop out before my car comes to a complete stop. Storm into the lobby. I can already hear yelling and cussing from the back. Breeze past the hottie manning the registration desk, flashing her a half smile. As I round the corner I see patient shove a nurse out of his way and make for the back. I break into a sprint. Down the hall and around the nurse's station. He heads for the employee entrance. Hits the door with enough force to crack the glass. Im only a half dozen steps behind. Outside he pauses, deciding which direction to run. I tackle him. We fall into a snowbank. I've got his arm pinned behind his back. More staff arrive with a stretcher. He lift him onto the bed and put the restraints on him. Wheel him back inside. I wrote up a report on what happened. Now I'm sitting at my desk with the adrenaline still pumping. Can't sit still, need to do something. Looking for more action...
