Got back from visiting luvs in the hospital today. I have good news and bad news. Good news, i got to watch him walk with the help of a walker! he walked 1/2 way down the hall and back. the bed news....the 1 and 2 vertebra aren't healing the way the doctors had hoped so he will have to have surgery to fuse them which means he will lose 70-80% mobility in his neck. He nervous about it but if he doesn't have it done he will have to wear the halo all the time. He was depressed about it but knows that it is his only option. He was moved to a bigger room (thank goodness!) If anyone wants his room number you can email me here for it. All in all he was in ok spirits for the news he recieved. He is still eating only very soft foods and has to have a thickener in it. This is going to be a very very long recovery and nobody knows if he will walk without a walker or cane. The rest is up to how determinded he is and how well his body heals. Please keep the prayers up and always wear a seat belt. RG
