Endless Green Horizon......
Endless Green Horizon...... WELCOME TO Sekinchan! A small town located in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. It is about 102 km of the north of Kuala Lumpur, 28 km from Kuala Selangor. Sekinchan is a little town in the middle of the main rice-bowl area of Selangor, in the Sabak Bernam district. You can see a wide green paddy field in your right when you arrive in Sekinchan. The word "paddy" is derived from the Malay word 'padi', meaning rice plant. Sekinchan in Chinese mean "village suitable for plantation', the land and weather is suitable for farming, one of the biggest rice producers in Malaysia. They are also famous for fresh fruits like Mango, the ‘Jambu Air’(in Malay) and Corn. This area is well-known for its high yield of rice and mechanized farming methods. Total farming land paddy and fruits is about 4,300 acres. The paddy fields in Sekinchan are HUGE! The lush paddy field here is so beautiful.. The endless green horizon, so very picturesque and relaxing…complete with the abundance of drains and waterways and the Breathtaking view! of the beautiful deep blue skies with fluffy white clouds..oh WOW..! During the bloom season , the fields are bright green and it is so soothing to the eyes....MMmmmmmm....wish am there right now oh sigh! During the harvest season, June and December, the paddy field looks gold yellow in colour and then it will be ready for Harvesting. It is also popular as a fishing village.Got some pretty interesting fishing villages and the Seafood here is Very GOOD too! YUM YUM! Proud to be Malaysian!!! Yay!! |

HI JM... i am from Singapore and will be driving up to Penang this December... is there any hotels that you can recommend at Sekinchan? i would really love to make a stop over there. Thanks Paul
