New Entry in the Idiocy Arms Race (or The Polish Bomber Joke May Have Legs)

Mr. Ciszy, a council member for the Polish town of Tuszyn, chose to argue, during a council meeting, that the half-naked Winnie the Pooh was inappropriate for school .

Now we won't go into what obviously comes to my mind with regards to this council member (what kind of porn is HE watching?) and instead focus on the oddity of anthropomorphic figures.

The second thing that came to my mind was how the council member would view Yogi Bear and Boo Boo. Both of them were definitively male, Yogi wore a shirt collar, tie, and hat, while Boo Boo sported only a bow tie. Are they inappropriate for for their nudity? They're bears, after all.

My mind wandered from Hanna-Barbera to Disney. Winnie the Pooh has since become a part of the Disney franchise, but AA Milne locked in his attire before Disney took ownership of the character. How did Disney characters hold up in the appropriateness for aspect?

Mickey Mouse, the quintessential Disney character, wears shorts and shoes, while the early Minnie Mouse wore a skirt, hat, pearls, and pumps. Surely the length of the skirt would be in question along with the fact that she wore no skirt, if she were human to be sure. I'm sure that the council member would be adequately shocked. Then you have Donald and Daisy Duck.

Donald and Daisy, like Winnie, do not wear anything other than shirts on their midsections. Daisy does add pumps, like Minnie, to add to the female aspect. Neither of the characters is of questioned sex or gender (or accused of being a hermaphrodite for not being anatomically correct in their depiction, as another council member insisted was the case with Winnie), but neither is volunteering or displaying their genitalia for the oddly curious council members in Poland.

And then there is Dumbo with his hat and ruffle. Is he inappropriate? Is he a hermaphrodite? He certainly isn't wearing pants, and, as anyone who has ever been to the circus or the zoo can attest, male elephants have noticeable genitalia not obscured by anything like feathers or fur.

And a discussion of cartoon characters wouldn't be complete without mentioning Warner Brothers. Do we start with Bugs Bunny, who wears nothing unless he's playing a part which could represent anyone or anything under the rainbow, or Daffy Duck, who occasionally wears a hat? Both male, though some have questioned the ease with which Bugs will flirt as a female. Six year old me picked up some pointers. We need a ruling from our judge in Poland. Inappropriate for ?

Pinky and the Brain are fully naked.

The Tasmanian Devil is fully naked.

Garfield, Odie, and Nermal are fully naked.

Clifford the Big Red and Scooby Doo only wear collars.

Oh, my goodness! I now understand why I am on an adult website! I was exposed to inappropriate and sexually suggestive cartoon characters from a young and impressionable age! The Polish council member was right! Save the from a similar fate of depravity!

If only people didn't feel the need to protect from things that don't harm them. But what kind of world would that be?

Some people seem to have very filthy minds and insist on showing it off to demonstrate their virtue and purity. (It is amazing how many people get conned into believing them.)

If you see me in the real world, come say "Hi Justskin."

I always behave. Preferably not well.
