Johnny Cash songs#
Johnny Cash songs# Johnny Cash hits me in the middle of my soul. I listen to his songs... and I can't quite explain all the emotion I feel. You see I am a brown skinned girl... who grew up in the Pacific North West. When I was growing up here... there was no "diversity" to speak of. I was "one of a kind"... and brown. So growing up, country music was not embraced. Silly really. It is real music of real feelings. Just the same feelings I feel. Music in my mind should not have a color regardless of the twang. Today when I listen to Johnny and many other country artists I feel at home. His voice especially makes me feel at home. I really dislike the part of our society that says that people of color can't like country music. Are you for real? I mean... hello... music is universal? NO???? If it speaks to my soul..... isn't that enough. My tone is my own... if I like the sound of a banjo and fiddle... wow.... I am not wrong, you are for making me unwelcome. The heart has no color.... I can only say this about that...... When I look at you from the inside out.... there is no shade. I can't see my shade from where I stand. We are all the same color from the inside out. I only see my color in your eyes and the mirror. |

His music can and does cross all boundaries because he put his heart and troubled soul into all his songs...they reflect that. He will always be considered a genius and legend amongst all who love and admire him.

Well his era of country was just fine. But, this crap country now is just so bad. Most of the singers can't carry a tune in a bucket. They think they are opera stars and try to hold notes way too long. Some sound like die'g cows. I'm a Real sucker for nipples Originator of the Cock Salad

Johnny Cash songs Those who have issues with people of color being fans of country music are pea-wits. If you derive enjoyment from Johnny Cash hits, what's the big deal? I happen to like that duet done by Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole, "Unforgettable". That won't change because the Black Panthers look upon me as a creepy white cracker. I also happen to like Scottish Highlands bagpipe music, also, although my heritage is actually Norwegian. What you said is spot-on correct: music is universal, and those who would pigeon-hole varieties of sounds based upon skin color need to grow the hell up. Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now. I go back on duty in less than seven hours and it takes me awhile to fall asleep. The northeast section of Salem is home to a lot of dogs who seem to enjoy barking contests. Take care.

As a life time country fan, we have had our wonderful share of diverse artist. I have many of friends of all races who listen to country music. I do agree, music should cross all boundaries and race or ethnicity should not dictate what you listen too. Our society needs to embrace everyone and accept that all can have a contribution.

I've been listening to The Man In Black since I discovered my Dad's "Ring Of Fire" LP back in the 60's, which was a "Best Of" . Amusing, since it was released in 1963, so Cash still had decades to make more "Best" songs. MY favorite at the time was "Remember The Alamo" since I've always been a history buff, but with time I grew to Love "I Still Miss Someone". It's poignant lyrics about Lost Love resonated with me throughout my life, and to this day it will still send an ache of loss through my soul. Cash always had the gift of imbuing his music with not just notes and rhythm, but with a deep emotion. Which is probably why Ms. mimi likes him so much, irregardless of the hue of her skin.
