"MY WORD"!

"MY WORD"! Be careful of what you say, It might be used against you. A man is not nothing if he don't keep his word. There are times, when we might promises, we can't keep, but don't say nothing if you don't mean it. I been around people, family member that say something and no intend on fulfilling what they say. I guess I was that way too, I meant to do what I say, but like the people I knew, I thought It wasn't a big deal. I worked at a school one time and one of the teachers was my friend. I told her I written a play and wanted to act it out to see how long the play was. I figure about an hour. She said, after school she would help he rehearse my play, and see can see how it the play was. This was a Thursday, and I told I would bring in the script tomorrow, which was Friday. Friday came, I had the script and I said to myself, I might as well leave it home, because she probably forgotten what she said, and will be too busy to help me out, no big deal. I worked started work at 3:30, school was out at 3:00. My supervisor mentioned to me that my friend was looking for me. So I walking the school before my shift and ran in to her. She said, let go rehearse the play now, I told her, I didn't bring it in, she say why? I said, I was no big deal! She was teary eyed and said, you gave your word! Wow! All that night at work, I was in a daze, and that weekend I was too. I guess, it was important, what might not be important to one person, maybe we vital to another. I was messed up and I told a friend what happen. He said, I was just a lousy play! MY WORD! He said something they make me think, "MY WORD", means a lot to her, from that day it meant a lot to me. I bought the play in the following Monday, we rehearsed it , it took about 50 min. I apologized to her that I would never stay nothing that don't plan to keep. If I promise or say anything to anybody, I would be A MAN OF "MY WORD"!!!! |
