Why are we friends if we never talk

I am not a friend collector, nor have I ever been. I want friends I talk to. I have several from the very beginning I am friends with, we don't talk as much anymore but every now and then. But just random friend requests No.
And I am just as bad to not stay in touch with casual friends. But I do try to stay in touch with ones I have spent time with, who's company I enjoyed. I just don't see a use for 400 / 600/ 1000 "friends" nameless, faceless people not friends.

 I agree completely. I have a couple of friends that I've never spoken to but they have great pics and vids. Other than that if we stop messaging, I remove them from my network. Especially if they friend 40 or 50 people daily.
Standards are people too.....kinda
