WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU? POLL RESULTS/COMMENTS

Hello friends/fans/all!

I have modified this post to share the comments and votes

My brief trip to the Charleston/Islands renewed me! I left Sunday morning and returned early last evening. I enjoyed myself immensely...wonderful R & R. I did it on a "shoestring budget" which I always like (For me, "shoestring", in this case means: filling up with the cheapest per gallon gas price I can find; inexpensive but suitable lodging; minimal spending on food, snacks, etc. I ALWAYS drink spring water most of the time so I just throw a dozen bottles in the trunk along with my cooler of sandwiches, fruit and yogurt. I bring other snacks so tend to spend only on coffee and one hot meal daily) This is, after all, about the beach so money is needed only minimally!

PLEASE VOTE ON QUESTIONS BELOW REGARDING GET-A-WAYS!

I PREFER:
An overnight in a very nice hotel with an expensive dinner/leisurely breakfast next morning.
An overnight in a reasonably priced motel; snacks/beverages on board; gift cards for hot meals; picnic on beach.
To pack light for an overnight camping trip: tent, sleeping bag, Coleman stove, campfire and S'mores.

Of course I like the expense and luxury, but that doesn't mean I can afford it.

Not into gift cards, but would actually plan for reasonably priced accommodations. .. Camping out is a whole other adventure. .. It can be done roughing it or in style.

Read my diary Journal of a Taxi Driver for taxi stories and pictures of flowers and trees.

I agree on both counts (except the gift cards, although it depends on what eateries/restaurants the cards are for and how hungry one is!)

for me reasonable priced room is great and any fast food place and a movie or the beach is nice

I agree although I actually like all three that I listed! Third in order for me would be camping. It has been maybe 30 years since I did any solo camping via tent. I don't know if cabins are given much credit for being a camping experience---haha! But that's what I've done primarily in the last 20 years...

I prefer middle of the road expenses. Spent my youth trying to save a buck or two and now I'm still not rich enough to go everywhere FIRST CLASS. Oh well so I stayed at TI my last trip to Vegas. MGM and LUXOR are both nice to visit, but I won't be shelling out for the penthouse suit anytime soon. If you want to read about my adventures in Vegas visit my blog INTO THE WOODS (erotic tales) - somewhere in the 50 stories there are 1 or 2 about sin city and the sexy adventures of some guy named Jimmy. lol Jimmy B.

My blog JimmyB7474 is called Into The Woods (erotica) entertaining stories about a guy named Jimmy. Enjoy.

Once I win the lottery I can then stay and live like Trump down in FL on the weekends....

Till then I try to keep my cost to next to nothing because that means i can travel more. Have been know to sleep in the car to save cash along with grilling at the rest stops. Seems not many folks do that at all but all most everyone has several grills to cook a great meal at. Provided you bring all the things you need.

And I think that is also a possible option! I'm with you 100% that the less I spend the more I travel. I didn't know it was allowed to sleep in cars at rest stops? I don't think I'd consider it as I wouldn't feel safe. There's scary, harmful people wherever one goes but overall I tend to "trust" the truck drivers. If I'm traveling late at night and need a restroom at a rest stop I will drive in and if I see trucks running I know there are drivers available if I needed help. I'd yell and bang on the driver's side doors!
