Number one (Original don't you think?)

I was a paid member for quite some time and then the powers that be decided that the site needed to be upgraded - to be more like Facebook or Twitter it seemed to me.

The upgrade broke so much of the functionality of the site, and generally reduced usefulness to me to almost zero, that I closed my account. I have come back as a standard member just to see if it has improved any.

Seems to me that it hasn't.

Instant Messenger.
When I first used this service there were never fewer than 40 members on IM in my local area. Many were regulars and I chatted to several (male, female and couples) so I know they were real. Now there never appears to be more than about 6 and none of them are the people I used to chat to. So either, like me they all became so pissed off that they left, or the site is still broken. Or is set up NOT to show local members. Since I have no wish, nor the cash, to travel all the way to California to meet somebody it seems nonsensical that I cannot contact local members. Surely most contacts are between members who are relatively local to one another.

Webcam Broadcasts
Same comments apply as above plus the upgrade meant that I was unable to broadcast my own webcam. This is a known software issue relating to my refusal to use any product from Microsoft and the close<b> ties </font></b>between Windows and Adobe Flash. Won't ever be resolved I know so the site is stuffed from that point of view. Since I met several lovely ladies via my webcam broadcast, and shared physical intimacy with some of them, I find this regrettable in the extreme and really makes the site of little value to me. SKYPE works fine for me so I don't know why FriendFinder-x can't fix it.

General
Connections are still flaky. Regularly lose contact with another member while in the middle of a chat. Often their webcam is still broadcasting but messages do not get through. I just hope that the other member realises what has happened and doesn't think I am just so rude that I would suddenly star to ignore them.

Connections on IM / Webcam seem just to freeze sometimes.

This all used to work so well that I was seriously impressed by the efficiency of such a complex operation - not now.
