High on an ancient tundra,

God storms through the gorge;<b>

slapping </font></b>the backside of Hood.

Sheets of rain, like rolling waves,

quench a parched landscape.

Flakey crusted formations

leave little for foliage, still...

hidden shades of green flourish

His mind lost in thought;

many days left empty, rummaging

washed from the earth, drained.

A spent root finally withers its leaves,

slowly giving in to decay.
