Traveling Tuesday

Traveling Tuesday-Where I have been, Where I want to go.

San Francisco is a large Metropolitan city located in Northern California on the Pacific Ocean. It has many famous tourist attractions including, The Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, Lombard Street, and of course the Cable Cars.

One of my favorite things to do when I lived in the Bay Area was to take the BART train into the City and spend the day. I would go to Union Square and get Theater tickets for a play at half price. Then I would go shopping at Macy's and the other stores. I would have dinner in a nice restaurant, see the play, and take the train back home. This is an adventure that I miss now that I live in Oregon.

Sydney, Australia is a famous city on the water also. Everyone recognizes the Sydney Opera House when they see it. Sydney is located on the east coast of Australia and is one of the worlds largest natural harbours. Sydney is one of the most multicultural cities in the world with a population of over 4 million people and over 250 languages spoken. Some of the attractions in Sydney are the Royal National Park, Bondi Beach, and the Royal Botanic Gardens. Man-made attractions such as the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge are also well known to international visitors.

I have never been to Australia, but I would love to cruise there one day. I can't fly more than 6 hours on an airplane I get bored, claustrophobic, and anxious. The 14 hour flight from LA to Sydney on Quantas is the quickest air flight available. Since that is out of the question for me, I hope to win the lottery so I can cruise there.

Where have you been and where do you want to go?

You are so right about those long haul flights being a right pain in the
derriere, although come to think of it thanks for reminding me as I'll be
on one next month!

Thailand Vietnam & Australia are next on my travel list as in places I
want to visit.

I've always wanted to go to Antarctica, then Tierra del Fuego. I want to see the Northern Lights... Iceland

Just a few places... then maybe somewhere like Tristan de Cunna.. in the Atlantic Ocean...

Perhaps I've seen to many travel shows on TV...

Australia is a great choice and on my list as well. I've heard from a friend that China is a great place to see as well. I haven't been out of North America ever in my life so I'd love to explore more.

It's been ages since I was in San Francisco for more than a short stay, but when I was it was fun to do like you said and just jump on one of the various public transit systems and explore the town. I was up by UCSF and rode the MUNI around town and hit up a lot of old record shops (this was 1999 lol) and just enjoyed seeing the town. Was fun to see a baseball game at the Giants park as well.
