Write your name on the palm of my hand, let's start again, I can trace your outline... "So write your name on the palm of my hand, let's start again... with the sun in my eyes I can trace your outline..." It was raining outside... and, cold... not frozen, tundra cold... but... cold for north Texas... as a winter storm blew angrily from mother nature's breath from far up north... temperatures dropped 50 degrees in less than 12 hours... the day before it was a beautiful, sunny day in the 70s... We had dated a couple of years ago, but then, she saw someone else... no reason... no explanation... no silly love<b> songs... </font></b>no excuses... no... "it's my fault"... just one of the 50 ways to leave your lover... exhibited with silence on the other line... no return phone calls... just "the end"... days later, there was the... "it's me, not you..."... but, it didn't matter, as that choice was made... Here I was in a restaurant, minding my own business... eating fried frog legs and alligator. She walks in... looking like the melonlicious heavenly creature I once knew... the one I had tasted... the one with so many firsts that we had shared... a comfortable meeting of the minds... satisfying each other's needs over and over again... never asking for more... always pleased... always satisfied... or, so I thought... She didn't write her name on the palm of my hand... instead, she looked thru me and sat on the opposite side of the booth... I could smell her chanel #5... I thought I was dreaming... did I miss her that much... but, I wasn't dreaming... here she was... and, still... she said nothing... The waiter came by and she ordered her fav drink... a "Dos Equis" only she didn't call it that... she preferred "Stay Thirsty my friend..." and, the waiter left, returning with her beer. It was noisy in the restaurant, a cajun place with great seafood... not too far from my house... I hadn't said a word... She took her coat off, revealing that familiar goddess-like beauty I had held and adored... She was a woman that was used to getting her way... when she set her sights on something, it was a given... for her... I cut into the alligator and began eating...
