Is sex considered...a weight loss method?

Of course it must be, since for the most part we are exerting energy beyond just sitting in a chair and reading the paper!

Here are a few benefits of sex...other than the obvious one(s)....

Lose Weight
On average, sex burns about five calories per minute, depending upon your weight (I know I thought is was more). Even giving your significant other a hot kiss boosts your heart rate, which in turn increases your body’s caloric burn. Next time you’re too busy to work out, call you partner and get busy instead.

Look Younger
A study, done by Royal Edinburgh Hospital in Scotland, of 3,500 people between ages 30 and 101 found that regular sex may<b> shave </font></b>between four and seven years off your physical appearance. What’s the connection between youthfulness and getting it on? In addition to boosting self-esteem and confidence, sex increases the production of human growth hormone, which is known to improve muscle tone. So ladies remember sex=youthfulness!!!

Stress-Free
In a study by the University of Paisley in Scotland (what is the Scottish focus on sex?) , 46 men/women were asked to give speeches to an audience who was told to act like they didn’t care, unbeknownst to the speakers. Afterwards, the participants’ blood pressure was taken & those who had sex within the last two weeks had the lowest readings. I think we ALL knew about this fact (laughing).

Maintain a Healthy Heart
In the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, a study showed that men who reportedly had three or more orgasms per week experienced 50% fewer heart attacks/strokes as compared with those who had less frequent orgasms. Sex may help the heart because orgasm triggers the release of the hormone DHEA, which helps with circulation and arterial dilation.

Live Longer
A study in the British Medical Journal found that men who had sex less than once per month were more likely to die in the next 10 years than those who had sex once a week. Researchers at Duke University found that women who enjoy their sex lives, lived 7 to 8 years longer than women who were indifferent to sex.

I really wonder if the exercise angle to sex is worth all the bother, since there are many other reasons including pleasure to enjoy it....
