Oh Annie Girl, Why?

We left quickly hearing someone downstairs..it was the night watchman locking up the passage ways at the church. We each left without a word through different doors, but I quickly handed Annie my pen and whispered...call or text me.

I did not take my phone with me to sing and so it was not until I got home that I saw her text(s).."Stephen, I need to talk to you...where are you? Why don't you answer my texts?"

I could not get out of my clothes and sit down by myself fast enough. In a panic I text her back..."I am here now...sorry, I did not take my phone with me."

"Stephen, I need to see you...where are you?"

"I am at home back in Dadeville," I texted to her.

"When can I see you?"

Trying to slow down the panic I felt in her texts, I wrote back to her saying, "Sure, I want to see you again also."

"Are you coming to Auburn tomorrow?"

"Yes, to return my tuxedo...can we meet for lunch?"

"No...I need to see you before then if at all possible."

"What are you saying Annie?"

"I cannot get into the house and I have no where to go. I have been locked out and I need you to help me."

"What?"

She continued to text me all about her fight with her husband over singing in the choir at the church and that her husband had taken the to visit their grandparents for a week out of state. He had locked her out in the afternoon...changed locks at the house and left a sign on the door stating that she
may not enter back into the house until Tuesday when he comes back.

"Can you find a place to stay tonight?"

"Yes," but I have been sitting in my car trying for an hour to get you to answer my texts....was hoping you'd stay tonight with me?"

"I can't do that and I am home now, but I will see you in the morning...meet around 8 am in Auburn at Ihop?"

"Yes."
