Random Redhead Anecdote #2

Setting: Shopping centre in Belfast.

Redhead: Bohemian-type girl, 20-ish-to-30-ish. Long curly red hair tied back in a ponytail; trilby with feather; black leather jacket and blue jeans.

This was a weird situation. I was standing in a line at a fruit juice/smoothie stand - I can't remember the name, but I think it was a franchise, the Irish equivalent of Boost Juice. Anyway, I wanted something in the way of a smoothie with honey and banana and peanuts, but I had to wait my turn.

The problem was, the hot bohemian redhead in front of me was taking a fucking eternity with her purchase because she'd brought her own sack of organic fruits and vegetables. In lieu of a product from the drink stand, her modus operandi was giving HER fruits and veggies to the girl behind the counter, who would then pulp and mix the foodstuffs to the redhead's specifications. Is this normal? BYO ingredients to a fruit-juice counter? For shit sure I'd never seen anything like it during my innumerable trips to Boost Juice or Java Juice or any franchised smoothie dispensary.

Anyway, after 10 minutes or so of the drinks girl cutting up various fruits and veggies to chunks sizeable enough for the juicer, the end product was made and supplied to the provider of the drink constituents. The girl behind the counter actually didn't charge the redhead, but the redhead insisted on giving the other girl money for liquefying her veggies. I was actually pretty ticked off by the end of all this, so much so that when the redhead turned to me and offered to sell me organic strawberries from her fruit sack, I politely declined, even though in normal circumstances I'd love to chat with a quirky hot redheaded Irish girl in a funny hat.

I eventually got my smoothie, but the damage was done. Having to stand and wait while a Trilby-wearing trendy rummages through her sack of organic produce? That won't hunt, Monsignor!
