I'M the boss

Someone said something to me the other day...not someone I was friends with but just happened to be present when I was talking with another person in the grocery store. It was regarding a health issue and food

My initial thought was "Oh really, and you got your doctorate where..???"

Shortly afterwards I was thinking about it...I know what to eat and whether it's good for me or not. I know how to read. I know how to listen to my body and react accordingly. I'M the boss of me and I know what to do for me!

Does anyone else agree with this kind of situation...not appreciating someone else's unsolicited advice...especially when it sounds uneducated

Please speak up and participate with the rest of the class
Everyone is on a different plane of intelligence. Some people's plane has not taken off yet!!

 My fav is getting advice from two women I know to take this herbal something or other, or that natural whatever, because that is what they use. They fail to see that they and their families are the sickest people I know, so whatever they suggest isn't working for them. I will pass on that advice, thank you very much.

I have been guilty of giving unsolicited advice. When I realized what I did, I felt so embarrassed. You are right, unless asked, it is best not to butt into someone else's business

I would say it's a good thing you recognized it...most people can't even do that much But I'm sure we've all done it once or twice. I usually make something obviously humourous when I add my 2 cents worth
