Developing The Ideal A Poem

He made me think of the possibilities
I remember them from long ago
Once upon a time
Might be an accurate description
Like they were a fairy tale.

Caring and sharing
Giving and receiving
A true partnership
Communication the goal
Wanting to know the other person
As best as we could.
The definition of intimacy
Put into practice.
Developing the ideal.

It's not perfection we seek
Although perfecting is key.
Perfecting acts that give us
What we want and need.

It sounds heavenly doesn't it?
It sounds like I said
The stuff of fairy tales
The stuff of dreams
Do such people exist
Who are so genuine
And authentic
They wish to experience life
On so many levels?

How to reconcile
The mundane blahness
And spiritual?
How to fight our inner demons
That want to block
Out the world
And tell the other
Of such inner turmoil?

I am so far from such activity.
I am so far from sharing
The innermost me.
I have not found
Anyone willing and
More to the point<b> worthy
</font></b>Of such intimacy.
Sex in itself does not require
Such involvement
But if it did would it be
The gloriousness I envision?
The fairy tale of interactions
That are of such a regal scale
That Merlin the wizard
Seemed to cast a spell
So unreal would they seem
As they were from another realm?

It could happen
Now couldn't it?
If one other human
Is of a like mind
Regarding intimacy
And developing the ideal.
Independently Romantic Sounds Better Than Lonely
