Not Paragons. A Poem

He would nurture me
He would give me plenty
The numbers unimportant
Except that they kept coming.

He would see me as<b> worthy
</font></b>As an equal
But different
The differences
Gaining reverence
And understanding.

And I as is my nature
Would give of myself
Give my whole heart
Would have a ready smile
With his name on it.

You would think
We were paragons!
But no
We are all too human
And when a disagreement occurs
We harken back
To the inner glow
Of our appeal.
The kindred spirit
Whose flame
We would never want
To extinguish.
