No Longer Elated. A Poem

What a difference
A day makes
My spirit quieted
No longer elated
Perhaps this
Is for the best.

How could any man
Live up to
My expectations?
For to do so
As a task
Would be Herculean
Needing that Godly half

Solace I should take
In the knowledge
That I no longer
Have illusions

They are to be
Thrown away
What a heap
All my
Failed attempts make!
Are they totally useless?
No I would say.
As they provide
A valuable<b> lesson
