Spare The Reader A Poem

I know he read
One of my books
He thought it simple
And rather sad
In it's sentiment.
What can I say
It was the subject
Of infatuation
And rejection.

I should read my own work
And see how one infatuation
And rejection compares
To my newest chapter.

I could write a whole
Other volume!
Don't you know!
But I will spare the record
From being broken
Spare the reader
From finding the subject
Repetitive and boring.
Now if I can learn
The trick of history
Not repeating itself.

history might
repeat itself
and that is right
for history does
but seeing repeats
we know the end
can seek new conclusion
our developing history bend
to a fitting ending
a happier ever after
or at least a not wasted time
for we can move on in word
and end and exit in rhyme.

Thoughts in sensual pleasure to erotic writing writ.

Thank you dear Mulleen for your wonderful comment. You are the gold standard when it comes to comments. Such wisdom and wit. I so enjoy reading pretty much anything you write.

two potatoes
a small onion
clump of parsley
sprig of thyme
washing powder
soap
toothpaste....

I don't know yesmama, not sure my shopping lists are lyrical, or interesting....

Interesting as you us clump of parsley and sprig of thyme as well as washing powder. Americans might wonder what century you are from if you say that grocery list. LOL

Heart makes us forget history.
Heart makes your mind go blank.
Heart makes you forget reasoning.
Heart makes you deaf to your own warning alarms.
Heart makes your mind imagine things that aren't said.
Heart is a cruel thing.
Heart keeps us alive.
Heart without scars is a soft heart.
Heart with scars is a toughened heart that can get you through anything.
Heart can suck but just try to live without it.
