I AM ANDROGYNOUS ... But Not From Mars, part 1.5
There was a bit of irony that I enjoyed my first few days in High School. The student body of our High School was fairly large as it was a district school or drew from several middle schools. This meant that I knew many more girls than I might have in the first few days of school. Some of the guys that I just got acquainted with thought I must be quite a player cause of all the girls I knew already on somewhat of an intimate basis. Yuck! how shallow I know ... but funny also.

Of course, one of the first things that I did was to check out the cheer-leading squad but they already had tryouts for that year and they didn't accept Freshmen anyway. But I really lucked out as I found out I could just join the Freshman Cheer-leading Squad and there were no tryouts. All I had to do was to substitute Tumbling for Gym class. Hummmmmmm that would mean I would miss out on rope climbing, physical training, wind sprints for talking ... all my favorites. Hey, where to I sigh up for Tumbling? and I did. Oh, I almost forgot ... and this was so cool of her. I asked the Cheering-leading Coach if she would write my folks a letter telling them how beneficial cheer-leading would be for me ... and she said she would ... and she did! She was sooooo cool. Also, even though it was only the Freshman Squad and our schedule did not exactly match the Varsity's, we got tickets for all the Varsity games. As it turned out though, we soon got to know the Varsity Squad and they would get us in the for the games anyway.

I really enjoyed that year on the squad. Most of the members were really nice and our squad had two guys who were really awesome gymnasts ... really serious. They had to be Junior status to join their team as we only had a Varsity squad so they were staying in shape with our cheer-leading squad. That way, they had pretty much free access to our gym. As far as Tumbling is concerned, I wasn't a star by any means but even that grew to be fun, of sorts. I think the best thing was that being a male on a cheer-leading squad means I really stood out and I got to meet lots more students than if I wasn't on the squad.

That Spring we were at an away baseball game and after the game this guy, who I had seen around school came up and introduced himself and asked if I wanted a ride home. As I had seen him around our school I said sure and had one of my friends cover for me on the bus. He was a Junior and obviously had a car ... I always did like older men. To make a long story short, he became my first really serious boyfriend. He was really sweet, considerate and patient and as for sex, we had our favorite place and he introduced me to the obvious stuff with gentleness; actually made love to me, instead of just fucking me. That's probably why I like much of that today and have such really fond memories about us. Our relationship lasted a little over three years or graduation as I went away to school right after graduation for the summer quarter at college. But, that is another story ...
