yes, there briefly were cfl team in usa. started with former usfl organization sacramento gold miners. then the following year (i think) several more, mostly in small markets (except baltimore). led to a great debate over the name (and a great sports story), they wanted to use colts, but the indy colts (who bolted) sued, so by court injunction, their first year they went by baltimore CFLs. their second year they adopted stallions with the explanation that thats what colts become when they grow up! "well only get through this if we work together. if we dont, none of us will"

you forgot a truly great quarterback, Warren Moon. He was an incredible quarterback started in Edmonton and then with the Houston oilers for many years and then the Minnesota Vikings.

 "GO Stamps GO"!!!! I have actually drank out of the grey cup when Calgary won it in 2001. A team member brought it to town and to a Christmas party I was at and they filled it with beer and everyone had a drink.

although I don't follow football closely thru the season Grey Cup is usually watched and we have a family gathering that includes beer and BBQ ribs and chicken wings ! don't know why or how we started it but it always happens for Grey Cup ??? xoxo

Hi Joy. thanks for taking me further... (this is my saying... you can't use my sayings on my posts... just sayin'...) and... you know why I use this saying... because of the: "Johnny Walker commercials using the catch phrase... "Joy will take you further..."" be that as it may... about football... I don't know why they have a super bowl... because the Dallas Cowboys should win all of them... but, we choose not to... as in God's country... it's all about the love... and sharing... and... so, I guess it's ok to keep playing them... we only have 5... ho hum... as for the Grey Cup... they could have 50 players on the field... I mean... the game was invented with 11... and, the NFL didn't go shades of grey... they probably would have called it "the blue" cup... if they had to pick a color... just like the blue of the Dallas cowboys... (well... there is some grey in there...)... maybe, the reason that the fields are longer and wider is because they use soccer stadiums which tend to be longer and wider... and that makes sense... but, if they waited any longer for the cup... they'd have to call it hockeyball, because the snow and ice would be everywhere by then... so... it's good that they've move the season up earlier to not compete with the really cold sports up there... like curling and hockey... just sayin'... so... The only sport I come close to being a fan of is "Hockey"; I hardly watch a whole game of hockey. Football, basketball, baseball or any other sport there is treated the same way when on TV. When attending a sport event I will view the whole event. I am a home town fan of any sport, so the pro teams out of MI are the teams I root for. I have played all of the sports mentioned and soccer too, except hockey; I can't skate very well,,straight line and gentle turns yes, backwards NO! Same with roller skates. Rooting for the team you are rooting for! Good luck!

I am sure you could teach me to skate better than I do. Yes, minor league sports are fun to watch, the price is right and the distance is closer than that almost 100 mile drive to see the pro teams in MI.
