Yeah I don't get the craze for it either - money off something you didn't really need anyway. Had to go to the supermarket this morning (was dropping off some stuff in the recycling and was looking for some glue to fix the oven door) and there were loads of folk at the entrance looking over a few pallets full of TVs. Nothing wrong with buying a TV if you need one, but these were typically about 40" and had £50 off - so below the current average for size and even with that amount off they would still be making a profit. And yet people were still considering it. So the only people to benefit are obviously the retailers. I gather it's their busiest day of the year.

I don't shop Black Fridays....it goes on all month here! I don't shop online at all.....I'm a hands on kinda guy!

The only store I go to on Black Friday is JoAnn Fabrics...they have a stellar deal on flannel fabrics that I will use to make Christmas gifts, and baby gifts the rest of the year. I don't have to go at the crack of dawn, I was there at 9 am this morning, still got the fabric I wanted, lines were much shorter. I also get the tins for gifting the sweet treats I will be baking over the next week. I have done the craziness at Walmart, once. Never again. Most people are cheerful and friendly, but some can be rude. At the fabric store, I've never run into rudeness. "Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is relax." – Mark Black

Good morning my friend and what a great Poem for Black Friday. This is one day that I absolutely HATE, people are so fucking rude its so unbelievable and the VIOLENCE is so unnecessary. I don't even want to go out today even though I need to get some water.. I hope you enjoy your day, and have a wonderful weekend.. Having worked retail for nearly 16 years you can bet your stuffed turkey I am home in my nightie getting ready to post the POLL for Symposium and then bone out the turkey and make soup. I always offered to be an "opener" for Black Friday cause if not, the employees have no parking spots and have to park at an hotel and walk half a mile. The fire dept put up No Parking Sawhorses and the public pulled them down, jeopardizing the entire store. I do not shop on line ( at least not for Christmas)- I like going to the post office to mail packages. I do, however, shop all year and take advantage of sales and just put things in a basket with notes on them as to whom I bought for!!) I like your version of Black Friday Joy...looking awesome in black... Naw, have not set foot in a store on what is called Black Friday, ever and might never too. I don't go to a store on the holidays unless it is some needed ingredient for making food. I am from a long a go time when nothing was open on a holiday or Sunday. Suits me fine that way. When I go shopping at the stores a great number of people will be just getting out of bed. In truth,,,don't like waiting in lines, shopping crowds or traffic.
