A love from a father for his little girl is indeed a truly special one, a special bond. So nice that you still feel that.

I always liked John's music. My sister had several of his albums, my parents who were big into country music enjoyed listening to him as well. Thing was he cross the music lines and did rock soft, country, as well as Pop tunes. A true artist. Annie's song was one of my sister's favorites as well, her middle name was Ann.

A charming story and you were lucky to have a loving dad. Sadly, many do not.

Hello Joy!
I like the pictures of all the older TV's and record player I remember them. I have a lot of records yet today and nothing to play them on right now.

I think it's very cool that you danced with your dad that is cool! I like to dance like that and I wouldn't care if you lead. Sometimes I need the help to get started then I will be OK LOL!

John Denver is not bad at all some of his songs were good. Johny Cash was my mom and dad's favort. The seen him live in the early 60's with mty aunt in Michigan.
It is good that you can think of your dad on Valentines Day very special for you!

Butch

That's a great song my friend I learned how to sign his song Sunshine On My Shoulders and we used to perform it in school for all the deaf children. He was a great singer my friend..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

Have always loved John Denver's singing and songs. I know that Critic's were not so impressed with him. I expect he was too sentimental, not edgy enough. A reason so many loved him. He sang about life and living. Annie's Song is a song of what a lover/life partner does. Renewing our sense of worth and of self when we have trouble finding it.
There are some songs I used to sing as I danced my young nephews and nieces to sleep and over a decade later my own kids too. Alfie, Yesterday, Moon River a few others, all sung by Andy Williams because Dad & Mom really liked his singing.

If you see me in the real world, come say "Hi Justskin."

I always behave. Preferably not well.

I do like John Denver, but I have not heard Annie before today or not that I remember hearing. The song is nice. Leaning to Waltz..I enjoy dancing but I don't really know anyone step, except a simple two step. I dance anyway, my older female cousin made me dance with her while she had American Band Stand on the tube, I don't know for sure maybe I was 6, 7, 8 but not 9. E was sort of like my older sister for a while, until her mom moved them.
I wish I had the feelings about parents like you do...my feelings are about grandparents that raised me until the age 12. but those feelings are all mixed up too. Mom was in a mental hospital and dad was creating his new family and did not collect me until age 12, his parents talked him into taking me.
Although I learned a lot being there too for 6 years, got sibs out of the deal.
Hey that was long ago,,and it all has to be ok. simple and not all unlikable by me. Guess that is why there are so many Facets of me! A puzzle, a collage, a mixture.

Hi Joy...

thanks for taking me further with part of your life... and, dancing...

I like it...

reminded me of this...

Elton John - "Your Song"

It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money, but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live
If I was a sculptor, but, but then again, no
Or a woman who makes potions on a traveling show
I know it's not much, but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song, and this one's for you
And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple, but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is, now you're in the world
I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well, a few of the verses, well, they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for…

Hello JOY When I was in Hamburg, one of the bars in the city always finished the night with "Country Roads", and all the Germans would sing along. They loved John Denver too

I remember John Denver, too. I really like those songs, too. He was a little bit nerdy! But I didn't care. I just liked his songs. Because they were heartfelt. Just as your contribution is heartfelt. I am so glad you shared all those special moments with your Dad. Those moments will last forever. One other song I really liked from him was Rocky Mountain High.
