Hello Joy! Well sorry that you didn't get that singing job at least your tried! Oh I think I would try again. Rejections wouldn't stop me from trying again and I'm sure you will try again to! Been home about an hour for overnight stay with GF beautiful time together and going to do it again she said we need to do this next weekend! Butch

I am not well trained musically though i have interest and understanding .I do not have the obsessive drive to perfect rote training for fluidity and to make the instrument sing .My dad was a professional musician . clarinet and sax , I heard him play so many times so effortlessly , yet he practiced quite a lot even after 30 yrs of playing .my daughter is a classically trained soprano ,she has performed with several choirs onstage in NY city philly, and in new jersey and virginia. she auditioned every year for the super elite williamson and westminster choirs. she got callbacks every year , and every year she was the last one not to be added to these 20 or 30 member groups , every year the same reason ,your tone is too unique and forceful to blend harmoniously .it is a soloists voice . damn , but she kept going .She just auditioned at disney world for a performing character role . she hates auditions but it never stops her

Sorry you didn't get the job, but kudos on the good attitude! In my early 20s I wrote a lot of fantasy and sci-fi. Mostly novels, a couple of novellas, a couple of short stories. Between the rags and the literary agents, I must have send out hundreds of letters alone. And then the manuscripts. Not a single publication. Whenever I got a response at all, it was always a rejection. I could have wallpapered entire rooms with the rejection letters.  When e-books first came out, I was sorely tempted to self-publish electronically, but the first electronic books were just absolutely rife with blatant and outright copyright theft. It's one thing to just steal someone's work but still have their name on it. It's another to steal their work and put a different name to it. And the readers and distribution channels both were struggling pretty hard at first to find a platform that worked. So I chose not to jump in at that time. Today, I have some time again. So I'm re-evaluating that idea. Since moving to the sticks here, I've started writing anew, hopefully to electronically self-publish some day, probably on Amazing Zone. If I still have the knack to write, that is. If things work out, I may even pull out my tarnished old books and give them a serious polishing. Goodness knows I've changed since I wrote those as practically a kid. The world itself has changed quite a bit too. So they'd need a bit of updating. I may have put down the pen for an extended period of time, but in the back of my head, and in my heart, I never gave up on my dream. I just hope that the front of my head still remembers how to create whole new worlds using only my words. Even an herb as sweet as basil is nothing without its bite. Lord Basil

I don't have any talents that anyone would be asking me to addition with. Sorry you did not get the gig but you did have fun with the band. You do sing or did sing with another band so it is not like you missed out entirely. What is the point of quitting? A absolute loss. Happy Sunday Joy.
