Luckily I haven't been taken in by one a scammer/bot/fake. They usually stand out like dog's balls, but I can see from comments left on "their" photos that a lot of guys on FriendFinder-x probably have been. It's obvious that they're thinking with something other than their brains

I've encountered a few scams along the way. Folks asking for travel money... promising to pay me back when they arrive. Other - what seems like - automated responses: off topic, ask questions already answered, etc. My bigger peeve is FAKES. Why do people come online just to lie?!? I bet there is a psychosis out there; I just don't know the name of it. Anyway, for those of us that have been doing this long enough ( this is my third time here in over 12 years ), such annoyances are easily spotted and ignored ( or sometimes humored out of sheer boredom : ) My favorite laugh-out-loud moments are when I find two profiles with the same pics and info and a single profile with obviously three different women's photos included. Thanks for that link. I've been accused of being a Bot, since I ask others to contact me away from here... But, let's face it... this site SUCKS when it comes to IMs and messaging! Why would I want to pay for utter garbage? So, other sites, I agree, will ask to 'meet' them somewhere else. But not necessarily this site... just be careful and don't give out personal info if you contact them!

Hi Joy! I got one that view me she was 71 only 8 miles from me. Her profile said if you get me put your cell phone # on message not going to do that. Very beautiful lady but not sure of her might be fake. Butch

for me.... the easiest way to spot a BOT.... once contact is made.. ask them to get on cam.

After 17 years on the site, I have found it fairly easy to spot the fakes/bots, though I have been mistaken before. The handles, the photos, the profile text usually are dead giveaways. It makes me laugh when the bots make comments on photos.

So many Cons out there! Someone took my cousin's profile on Faceback and wanted to me befriended him, and then mentioned, if I invested 1500, I would get 5000 back, I contacted my cousin, he said it wasn't him. What too good to be true, is not true! People just going give money away.
