I was a janitor/housekeeper for more than 35 years. It is a wild job at times for certain.

Joy based on the information below, you are clearly a successful business owner in a very lucrative and growing industry...

The total revenue of janitorial services in the U.S. reached 61 billion dollars in 2018. Another way to say this is that the demand is huge. And so are the margins. It's easy to charge between $40 to $50 per cleaner, per hour as a professional cleaning service.

In Canada, the commercial cleaning industry generates revenue of $8 billion and has seen annual growth of 2.8% from 2013 to 2018. There are 29,651 businesses that fall under this umbrella and more than 132,000 employees. Rising demand for these services keeps the employment levels rising, and the high number of companies across the country shows that the need is there.

As a teenager first job clean a factory bathroom men and woman have to say.
People are slobs for they don't have to clean up afterwards. Floors toilet and in the woman's room the rag collector. But I made money and was able to advance to the main vacuum cleaner. When I got done old go see the boss and help him with the cafeteria floor moving tables chairs for him to run the floor machine. One day he asked me if I ever worked with this floor polisher before I lolololol I said watch me . I but the cord on my shoulder and away I went. He was like where did you learn this. I said my father is have two machines at home we do the hard wood floors onces a month the cellar floor three times a year. Wax on wax off you can see yourself and with socks on slide across the floor. He said one day you will ave my job I said your safe I'm looking for a full time job in a few weeks. I did 32 years later I retired

the people who must to clean, are important and their job is important and must be respected. Unluckly, there are some people who think "that is just the person who clean..." but they don't think about how important is that job.

I just can say THANKS, to all the people who work cleaning the places where I go, for example my office, the supermarkets, train stations, banks...

I have cleaned at both a doctors office and a daycare. It is disgusting to clean up after other people. Especially when its a public place and they don't care. I admire your bravery. Hugs!

After forty-three years doing this type of work I have seen it all. Cleaned up every thing that most people would loose their lunch over trying to clean it up. In the past couple of years the job has gotten harder with the pandemic. More things to clean and sanitize and more hours put into do said cleaning. For every "at a boy " or thank's I've gotten doing this type of work there are ten times those who just don't get it. Those who don't realize that with out me, and people like yourself they'd be up to their ears in crud.

We are at the front lines with the work we do and most times we are the forgotten workers. With things opening up again I'd like to pass on some idioms to the general public. One is "Your mom doesn't work here please clean up after yourself" and the other.. is "We aim to please, so Men please aim."

Thanks for the shout out my good friend! And Kudos to you as well ! For a job well done! Making our corners of the world clean and safe for everyone is a tough job, so thank you to all that do!

Have a good one!

Treat the cleaner like the CEO!?

Obviously someone who has not met many CEOs. Cleaners are more likely to work hard for the pittance they are paid, and unlikely to have narcissistic personalities.

Absolutely! I honestly feel the world would be a better place if everyone had to do it for at least 3 months as a citizen for paid public service. I did Janitorial cleaning offices at night putting myself through college. Here’s to you, and everyone currently cleaning somewhere, and all us alumni of the cleaning trades. 🍺

Author51,
Oh you’re most welcome. Your reply to mine made my day. That and your profile pic! So, a toast goes out to those who get down and dirty so others don’t have to face it.

*Also a toast to ol’ Charlie, Drum in Peace, Legend!

did that and yep some look down their noses at you . I remember once in Dow the woman in charge of the building took me aside and told me that some big shots were coming . She asked me if I would mop the floor even it wasn't mop day . I did and this one stupid asshole comes walking in with mud all over his boots and he tracked up the floor . I called him a stupid asshole and he turned me in to my boss . What neither him or my boss knew is that the woman that asked me to mop was giving me some good pussy everyday in the change room . lol true story
