The Stones have always been a tonic for me, playing their music is a pick me up. I remember as a child watching a big pop concert on the television a new thing back then which is where your picture of them playing from on top that box came from Wembley Pool which was the ice rink and former 1948 Olympic venue, A lot of the bands were mobbed by girls and women and if you can find clips of it some were playing when near horizontal as security fought to keep them on those boxes. RIP Charlie Watts. x

Aye. Vale Charlie, the engine room of a decent little rock group.

Don't you ever call me your drummer! You're my fucking singer! Charlie Watts to Mick Jagger in Amsterdam, 1984. Right before he knocked him out with one punch! RIP my brother in rhythm......

Charlie was a class act.

That's 3 great musicians we've lost in the past few weeks, Dusty Hill, Don Everly and Charlie. RIP guys. Thanks for the music.

Charlie Watts was a brilliant drummer, one of the best!
I loved his quote on drumming for The Rolling Stones, said in 1986: "Work five years and 20 years hanging around."

Goodmorning sweetie!
I seen that Charlie Watts died. He played with the Rolling Stones a long time. Poor Stones!

It took a while for the news to be picked up on most of the sites, yahoo, msn etc... I think that I first read it over on AOL. When I popped onto the news story a little memo had said (released 5 minutes ago). Honestly, I thought that AOL used yahoo's news feed but it never showed up over on yahoo for a while. LOL maybe AOL wised up and dumped yahoo's leftist news views and went elsewhere. I know there for a while a lot of people were avoiding yahoo because their news view was so one-sided... oops sorrr I wandered off topic
Sad to hear that he passed for sure, we are losing all of the good ones as time passes recently

Dead and Company covered "The Last Time" last night in memory of Charlie Watts. It was a great show
