I've been following that situation and it's awful. Imagine being stuck in a car for two days? 🤔
Best of luck to them.

Click on Global News, BC. They have a lot of videos and reports from the area. See the total devastation of parts of the Coquihalla highway.

I feel for ya, and sending positive energy up to BC. I’ve got two kids in Vancouver as well. Luckily both are doing fine, they’re on higher ground and the main system sort of split and everything surrounding them got nailed hard. We got hit with a very similar storm about three weeks ago and I’ve never experienced rain like that before, 36 hours of drenching rain. Try and stay positive.

Those atmospheric rivers always cause these things to happen. Hopefully this doesn’t happen again anytime soon. I hope your sons are ok.

We checked with my daughter last night and they are ok at the moment. When she first moved out to BC she lived in Chilliwack. We have been following the destruction as theyt are suppose to come this way for Xmas.

Hope they are safe. It's a mess out here. Yesterday had so much rain it was unbelievable. Today is pure sunshine but expecting more rain in the week. Right now every highway outside of Vancouver is impassable. Nothing getting in or out. Some of the highways will take some time to re-open.

Yeah, it’s kinda bad when Hwy. 1 and 7 on this side of Hope, Hwy. 1, 3 and 5 on the other side, and then Hwy. 99, are closed - it does start to feel like the world is closing in a bit. I guess for the moment, the only way to drive to anywhere else in the country is to go through Washington state.

It was raining and blowing so friggin’ hard yesterday in the late morning in Langley that you really couldn’t see very far. When reports start coming in about major roads being washed out in Abbotsford and an evacuation order for the Sumas Prairie, you do start to wonder how much worse it’s going to get. Fortunately, probably because this is the fourth major storm we’ve had in the last few weeks, most of the weak branches have already come down so there weren’t too many widespread power outages. Being stuck in your car overnight for those people might not have been so much fun, though.

I haven’t been down the hill to see what the low areas by the Pattullo to see if there’s been much damage, but at least things don’t seem to be too bad in Surrey. Hopefully your kids have all reappeared out of the void. And the rest of your kin out here are OK.

Hope your boys are doing alright. Mother Nature can be down right crazy at times. News reports out of Washington State last night showed the same thing happening there as well. I'll be thinking about you and yours... Have a good one ( know it's hard to ) but try.
