A Detailed Description of My Interests, Likes, Talents, and Dislikes. I always end up shocking people when they find out certain things about me that seem strange to them, or seem odd for somebody like me to do or enjoy. But, I think that everyone should enjoy a large variety of activities, interests, topics, hobbies, etc. Also, my hidden talents always seem to come in handy eventually, and it is good to be knowledgeable in a variety of areas. Here is the detailed breakdown of my interests, hobbies, talents, and adversely my dislikes too. I play guitar. I started taking lessons at the age of twelve, and continued to do so until I was sixteen. I played in a few different bands through my teens, and then gave the guitar a rest for the most part until a year or two ago. I got back into playing and creating my own original tunes, after one night when all of a sudden a random jam session broke out at one of my buddies house, and I remembered how much I enjoyed playing guitar, and creating music. Musically I enjoy classic rock, hard rock, and metal. All the way from Jimi Hendrix to Lamb of God. Lately, the heavier the better. I write fiction and non-fiction literary pieces of various styles. I like to write poetry, I like to write satire, and I even like to write non-fiction pieces on various topics and subjects with my own sarcastic and out-spoken touch. Conversely, I am not much of an avid reader, I get bored incredibly easily, therefore, i enjoy reading poetry mostly. I draw and have begun painting too. I have always loved to draw, usually pen and ink or pencil. And, recently, I have ventured into painting with oil and acrylic mediums as a new way to express my artistic needs. I am a pretty talented at drawing, however, painting has proven to be a challenge much more difficult than I had first believed. But, I am improving.... I create pottery and sculptures. I love creating pottery and ceramics using an auto wheel or a kick wheel, and also creating free standing pieces without using a wheel. I started in high school, and grew to love this art form very quickly. I have a huge collection of pieces I have created throughout the years. One day, I would like to own an art studio open to the public and host classes there as well. It would have painting and drawing area, a pottery area with wheels, a dying station, and a kiln, and various tables for sculpting, and creating other artforms. Also, it would include an area for<b> photography </font></b>with a dark room for developing photographs. I am a wonderful chef. Cooking is one of my favorite things to do. I love to create delicious meals, and I love to watch others enjoy the meals that I have created. I worked in restaurants from fourteen until I graduated college, and those were the most fun years of work I experienced to date. I really wish I took the offer to run the pizza shop after graduating college instead of taking the corporate route. But, maybe omeday I will go back into the restaurant biz. There are only two foods I absolutely dislike, Mustard and Cooked Peas. Even the sight of mustard or the familiar bright yellow container in which mustard is contained, are enough to make me gag. And, as for the peas, the texture of cooked peas, is just gross in my opinion. Fresh green peas on the other hand, are quite enjoyable. I can sew, I can do carpentry, masonry, and some electrical work. I love building things. Strangely enough, I know absolutely nothing about vehicles or anything that runs on an engine. And, this isn't due to lack of desire, I just have never had the tools or knew anyone who could teach me the skills. It isn't very smart experimenting in a new field when the result could be your only form of transportation no longer working. Although, now that I have my business in order, and more free time and capital to play with, I am contemplating the idea of purchasing a motorcycle, and I think my buddy will be glad to take me under his wing and teach me everything I need to know about servicing, repairing, improving, etc. motorcycles. Not only do I lack any skills or knowledge of motor vehicle repair, but I can not drive a standard car, nor can I ride a manual gear vehicle of any kind (atv, motorcycle, etc.) It upsets me, but I never really had the need to learn, nor the money to just go out and buy something without already knowing how to use it. I am extremely knowledgeable in nutrition, physical training (weight training, fitness, and kinesiology) and enjoy working out very much. I have three powerlifting records at SUNY Cortland. And, was an avid bodybuilder for most of my teenage and early adult life. Unfortunately, the last few years have been a little rough on my body and the pain has made working out a thing of the past. But, recently, I have begun to slowly get back into the gym and hopefully can get the body back I once had.Also, I have trained numerous individuals with a variety of goals and have helped every one of them achieve that goal. I have done this strictly for friends and never for payment or anything in return, other than seeing someone accomplish their goals with my help. That is payment enough. I am interested in history in general (specifically ancient society,myth and religion, and the history of organized crime) I collect coins, paper currency, and silver and gold buillion. Antique books, and other items of historical importance. I don't enjoy watching sports (except occasionally live hockey, lacrosse, or rugby games). I don't really watch television I don't have a favorite tv show that i watch every week at a specific time, and plan my schedule around. (I do have a large list of movies I enjoy) I try to stay busy doing something. anything really, I get bored very easily, and my mind is always running at full speed, so I tend to try and keep it distracted with various hobbies and activities. Likely, why I have so many different and odd talents and hobbies. But, these are my interests, hobbies, activities, talents, and dislikes. |
