All They need is Love and Care!!!

Plants are like people, all they need is love and care. I tell you what, I actually talk to my plants every morning when I check on them. but I digress, I also talk to my Gold fish. I give them a good morning every day, my roommate thinks is crazy, every morning, feeding time, there I am talking to them and feeding the fish, my roommate poke his head out of his room. screams, you are talking to the fish again aren't you?. I said yeah, so what, stayed out of our conversations

Anyhow, I love plants, I have 6 of them, My roommate has giving me all of them, He gives me one orchid each year for my Birthday. been here with him 3 years, so I got 3 orchids

These two in the pictures, plus 3 orchids and one bamboo. I like them all. but these 2 are special to me. I been looking after them cause when I got them, they were in very bad shape and sickly looking.

This is the story with them, one of my roommate friend had these plants, but for some reason they got very sickly, my roommate brought them to me. he said, I know you like plants and seems you have a good hand for them, brought you these two from my friend place cause they are dying on her, they look very bad, one was looking dry with the leafs all brown. the other one was looking yellow and leafs falling out it. I was not sure if I they were going to make it or not. but I took them in. is been months since I been working with them. apparently they like me cause they are coming back.

Look at the green one. she looks very healthy already. she is getting big. the other one, as you can see, still has some brown leafs, but is also coming back. it has taking me time working with her. I love her. I can tell that behind her dry leafs she is very pretty. they are coming back.

I call them all my Maria's, Maria 1, Maria, 2, they go all the way to Maria 5. and the bamboo I call him Mario Haha.

Do you have any plants???. Please share about them

On observation these look like Spathaphyllum ( Peace Lily) I tried to pimp one off google so you could compare them
Spathaphyllum/Peace Lily seeds you can find pics on google

Peace lilies are susceptible to chlorine damage; let chlorine evaporate from tap water before using or use distilled water. Over-watering may cause leaves to turn yellow and under-watering may cause plants to wilt and the leaf edges to turn yellow or brown.

Testing the soil before watering by sticking finger in soil up to first knuckle can help you determine the need for water - if soil is moist don't water. Placing the peace lily in high humidity or creating a humid environment is beneficial to the plant. Peace Lilies are good candidates for hydroponics. A bathroom is a good place for mThe Peace Lily is related to other aroids, including anthurium and alocasia. The plant has glossy, pointed and oval leaves that emerge from the soil. Typical of the aroids, the white flowers emerge from the leaf stalk surrounded by a cupped white spathe that gradually fades from pure white to greenish or yellow over time. The central spadix is white or yellow. These plants are native to the rainforests of Central and South America.

Growing Conditions:

Light: They are shade-loving plants in their native habitats, and in the home they prefer light to moderate shade. Some varieties can withstand more light.
Water: During the summer, water and mist frequently. They thrive with higher humidity. In water, reduce watering, but never allow the soil to dry out.
Temperature: They really prefer moist warmth; avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 55ºF if possible.
Soil: These plants like a rich, loose potting soil containing plenty of organic material.Moisture as well from shower steam"

If these babies were failing, you appear to have done an excellent job of nurturing them!!!

Haha, kill them by looking at them, I don't want you near my plants Lol, Thank you, I do good with plants, is damn good to know that I am not the only one who talk to the fish Hahahaha, I have gold fish, well we, cause they my roommate's but I took over them. their name is Goldie and Blackie. they are a lot of work, cause when they get sick, I am the one getting up cheeking on them. my roommate doesn't lose any sleep over them. sometimes I have to yell at him to change the filter for them. cause otherwise he won't.

Seems like your daughter has a good hand for plants then. that is very good.

Thank you for the info. I appreciate that, I actually can use some points from the notes.

Yes, they were failing when I first got them. been looking after them very closely. I keep moving them around for light or not too much light. I move them from different locations, all depending on weather. when is cold like now that is winter. I keep them away from glass windows. sometimes I have them with me in the kitchen when I cooking so that they can use the heat and the esteem from the kitchen. I found out they like that.

I have a few houseplants, some that bloom and some that just exist. I have a few Christmas cactus, old pointsettias, some African violets, a daisy, a hoya, etc AND i also have some fish. When I clean my tank, i use the tank water to give them a shot of "fish fertilizer" and I have noticed it helps them flourish!!

Sounds like you have lots of plants. I love cactus, I don't have any but been thinking about one. is good to know about the "fish fertilizer". maybe I will try that too. mines I have notice they like the kitchen heat, especially when I am bowling water. I notice they love the steam that comes out of it. usually, first thing in the morning, bring them to the kitchen and let the water boil for a little so they get all warm up haha, especially now that is winter.

I think a place that has plants feels much better.
